Our Story

Yegna Mart started with a simple problem: the ingredients that make Ethiopian food taste like home were nowhere to be found in Canada — or when they were, they weren't the real thing.

We're a family that cooks Ethiopian food the way it was meant to be made. Our berbere, mitmita, and shiro come from the same recipe we've used for generations. Our injera is imported directly from Ethiopia, fermented and made with authentic teff the traditional way. Our niter kibbeh is made right here in Ontario from the freshest local dairy, slow-cooked with Ethiopian spices we source ourselves.

We don't cut corners. We don't compromise. Every product we sell is something we eat ourselves — and that standard doesn't change.
